comment on a comic

I enjoyed reading this comic, being a drama kid I can relate to it. You used Propps character functions and dramatis personae really well and made it work to your advantage. You also used Todorov’s principles of equilibrium, disruption, equilibrium, which created a better structured climax. It was interesting how you used the audience from another production in the piece. This was a very original and topical comic. I liked how you used an issue that everyone is talking about and exploited it to you benefit. You took this comic to another level and put more than the expected effort into it. Well done guys!!!!!!

This cartoon could be taken in two ways. The first being the story at face value, with Todorov’s perfect equilibrium, disruption (repeating) until we run out of troubled pregnant teenagers in the world. There was a point in the middle of your cartoon that I just started laughing out loud. The story line was typically cliché and you executed it perfectly. You usurped the functions of the Proppian characters and flooded your story with them. The jealous secret lover, troubled teen, disrespectful boyfriend, all amounting to a almost satirical look at our university life. Executed with great style! I would prefer to absorb this cartoon in this respect rather than a basic plot with the characters you have formed, but when perceived like this, I’m sorry but it turns into comedy gold.
